Insert Row F&O


In the new version of PIB you can simply add F&0 scrips by SECURITY FILTER BAR:

Insert scrips / indices in your Market Watch
In security Filter Bar , you need to follow the following steps to insert security into the Market Watch:

  1. Select Exchange from Dropdown list .

  2. Select Segment FUTSTK, OPTSTK, OPTIDX, FUTCUR, OPTCUR .

  3. Select scrip from the list .

  4. Select Expiry date for Derivatives contract .

  5. Select Option Type and Strike Price for Option Contract. .

  6. Press Enter or Click “Insert” .


For older version you can use Insert Row F&O option that allows you to add F&O contracts in your Market Watch. PIB displays you the following window when you select this option:

PIB provides you two ways to add desired contracts in your Market Watch.

I Select & Add
One easy way is to select the contracts that you wish to add (Press Ctrl button in case of multiple selections) and click on 'OK' button to add them in your Market Watch.

II Search & Add
Second ways is to search the desired contract first by filtering the list and then add them in your Market Watch. The steps for this procedure are as follows:

  1. NSE - To begin with, you need to choose the Exchange. You can choose 'NSE' option or 'BSE' option from the drop down list. By default 'NSE' is selected.

  2. Type - Next, you need to choose the contract type. You can choose 'FUTSTK' option to add stocks from the Futures Market. Or, you can choose 'FUTIDX' option to add indices from Futures Market. Similarly, you can add stocks from Options Market by choosing 'OPTSTK' option or 'OPTIDX' to add stocks from the Options Market.

  3. Symbol - Next, you can choose the scrip's symbol from Symbol drop-down box to view related contracts.

  4. Expiry - Next, you can choose the expiry date. This field shows expiry dates of next three months.

  5. Option - Next, you can select the options type i.e., whether you like to add contracts with 'Call' options or those with 'Put' option. Note! This option is only applicable with Options based contracts.

  6. Add Contracts - Once records are displayed, you can select the desired ones (Press Ctrl button in case of multiple selections) and click on 'OK' button to add them in your Market Watch. Note! PIB displays records on the basis of your set criteria. The moment you make changes to any field, PIB displays you the related records instantly.

Contracts Nomenclature
F&O Contracts are named following a specific pattern to ensure consistency while displaying them. These are discussed below in the tabular format:

Add-on Features

  1. Select All - You can click this button to select all the contracts displayed on the screen.
  2. Cancel - You can click this button to close down the window.
  3. Reset Search - You can click this button to reset all fields to their default values.
